The Liberator (Dante Walker #2)

by Victoria Scott
Release Date: August 27, 2013
From Entangled Teen

Bad boy, meet bad girl.

Dante has a shiny new cuff wrapped around his ankle, and he doesn't like that mess one bit. His new accessory comes straight from Big Guy himself and marks the former demon as a liberator. Despite his gritty past and bad boy ways, Dante Walker has been granted a second chance.

When Dante is given his first mission as a liberator to save the soul of seventeen-year-old Aspen, he knows he’s got this. But Aspen reminds him of the rebellious life he used to live and is making it difficult to resist sinful temptations. Though Dante is committed to living clean for his girlfriend Charlie, this dude’s been a playboy for far too long…and old demons die hard.

With Charlie becoming the girl she was never able to be pre-makeover and Aspen showing him how delicious it feels to embrace his inner beast, Dante will have to go somewhere he never thought he’d return to in order to accomplish the impossible: save the girl he’s been assigned to, and keep the girl he loves.

REVIEW: TORI, WHAT THE HELL. WHAT EVEN IS THIS BOOK!!!!
Ok, lets bare all here. I loved the book with a passion of a thousand burning suns. I'm wary of sequels because they are usually the weakest of the series. Victoria must be some sort of magical writer because this book had me as sucked in as the first book. Dante starts off in the beginning with his usual self-destructive tendencies times a thousand. Then God makes him actually DO HIS FREAKING JOB! THANKS GOD! I thank Victoria for clearing up that there would be no CharlieXDanteXAspen love triangle. I love how slowly we would learn Aspen's past and how damaged she was. Aspen was a very awesome character to add in this series. So while we have Dante and Aspen becoming friends, we also have updates on how Charlie is doing. Ummm, not well... Charlie was bad-ass in this book to the MAX! She didn't take any crud from Dante and she could certainly hold her own. Same goes for Aspen. Victoria has bred two brand new badass heroines and I love them. Then the plot twists decide to come in this book and everything goes insane. Everything was built up nicely with nothing lacking in the writing or flow of the plot. AND

THEN THE FREAKING ENDING. Guys, I bother Victoria on a daily basis (she can testify to this). I knew she was a Slytherin but I DIDN'T THINK SHE WOULD BE THIS EVIL. I just didn't see it coming and man, I cried myself to sleep. I just, I can't even anymore with this series. I HAVE DIED AND PROBABLY WILL NOT GO TO HEAVEN. I AM GONA MARCH INTO HELL AND PUNCH EVERYONE BECAUSE THAT WAS NOT COOL.
Ok, I totally think that this was the best sequel I have EVER read, just Duuuudee, Go pick up this series NOW

Tale Of Two Centuries by Rachel Harris Review!

A Tale of Two CenturiesAlessandra D’Angeli is in need of an adventure. Tired of her sixteenth-century life in Italy and homesick for her time-traveling cousin, Cat, who visited her for a magical week and dazzled her with tales of the future, Alessandra is lost. Until the stars hear her plea.
One mystical spell later, Alessandra appears on Cat’s Beverly Hills doorstep five hundred years in the future. Surrounded by confusing gadgets, scary transportation, and scandalous clothing, Less is hesitant to live the life of a twenty-first century teen…until she meets the infuriating—and infuriatingly handsome—surfer Austin Michaels. Austin challenges everything she believes in…and introduces her to a world filled with possibility.
With the clock ticking, Less knows she must live every moment of her modern life while she still can. But how will she return to the drab life of her past when the future is what holds everything she’s come to love?

Ok, guys I LOVE RACHEL HARRIS. This series is like candy to a baby. Full of sweetness and makes you want to ccry when you don't have it. I have to admit that it's been a while since I read MSSSC but I nosedived right back into this world. I always loved Less's character and this just made me love her so much more! Reyna is as wise and mysterious as ever so glad that didn't change. I loved how we saw how much time didn't pass much for Cat and had passed a ton for Less.
Now lets get to the boys! Austin started out as BAD BOY SUPREME who infuriated Less to no end and made me smirk so much! Logan, oh dear god, MOTHER OF GOD, HOLD ME. He was so sweet and I just loved him so much.
The plot moved quickly and without a hitch, the writing style was beautiful and I absolutely loved this entire book. OH THE ENDING. I thought I was going to die. I recommend to people who love romance, and fluff with a dash of contempary and a pinch of historical.

Anna Dressed In Blood by Kendare Blake Review!

Anna Dressed in BloodCas Lowood has inherited an unusual vocation: He kills the dead.So did his father before him, until he was gruesomely murdered by a ghost he sought to kill. Now, armed with his father's mysterious and deadly athame, Cas travels the country with his kitchen-witch mother and their spirit-sniffing cat. They follow legends and local lore, destroy the murderous dead, and keep pesky things like the future and friends at bay.Searching for a ghost the locals call Anna Dressed in Blood, Cas expects the usual: track, hunt, kill. What he finds instead is a girl entangled in curses and rage, a ghost like he's never faced before. She still wears the dress she wore on the day of her brutal murder in 1958: once white, now stained red and dripping with blood. Since her death, Anna has killed any and every person who has dared to step into the deserted Victorian she used to call home.Yet she spares Cas's life.

MOTHER OF GOD, THIS BOOK WAS WONDERFUL. I'm gonna be honest and say that when I read the first chapter I thought of SUPERNATURAL, the fact that the MC'S name was Cas was a bonus. This book's plot was wonderful! I thought that the writing style flowed smoothly and without a hitch. The supernatural elements were added in nicely and not overwhelming. I loved how the most of the side characters had a backstory that revealed about them but not so much that you went "Wha? Are they the main characters now?"
I had a few issues with the plot development, but those were resolved quickly. I loved how they solved the mystery of Anna's history. What happened to her was horrific. I loved how Cas and Anna's relationship developed rather nicely. All in all, I would recommend it to people who love gore, ghosts, and all that wonderful paranormal activity. Honestly, I never thought a hunter and a ghost would be my OTP. *sigh* This is my life and these are my choices.

EXCERPT:

...I sighed softly and did something I'd only read about in forbidden novels. I leant in, brushing my lips against his. The kiss was soft and chaste. It lasted no more than a mere second before I pulled back.
"What was that, Olive?" He gave me a horrified look and all I could feel was my stomach somersault. I knew romance and love weren't ever spoken of in Genesis. There was no need when the government knew who was perfect for one another, and children were won by lottery and conceived in a lab. Intimate acts were considered unnecessary.
"I read about it in a book," I whispered, afraid I'd done it all wrong. "It was a kiss," I breathed, chewing on my bottom lip nervously. I’d never kissed anyone before and worried he thought it was terrible. I’d never seen two people share a kiss, I didn’t quite know what it was supposed to look like, but I thought I’d done it right after reading about it. My hand reached out, grabbing his arm. "Please don't be mad at me." I breathed. "You have to swear you won't tell anyone!" Joshua hesitated for only an instant before he leaned in, taking another taste from my lips trying again. The second kiss was softer and satisfied both of our curiosities. My heart raced and my skin warmed to his touch. "I thought today was going to turn out so much worse," I confessed.
Joshua laughed as he pulled back slightly, staring at me. His eyes had darkened a deeper richer shade of blue. I'd never seen his eyes change colors before. His fingers moved to tickle my stomach with a grin. "Worse? Really? You're not happy you married me? You're just relieved it wasn't someone worse?"
"No!" I shrieked, "That's not what I meant!" I tried to catch my breath, but he hardly gave me a second more than necessary. I pulled from his ticklish grasp, jumped from the couch and ran across the room in a fit of laughter. He quickly followed, jumping over the sofa as he was just inches from me. He was close now, smiling and trailing behind me as I ran toward the bedroom. It was probably the worst place I could go, trapped between Joshua and a mattress. I felt him tackle me down onto the plush bed, his hands skimmed my stomach but he was no longer tickling me. The laughter still hadn't subsided.
"Breathe," Joshua said, staring intently at me.
"Trying," I gasped between fits of laughter. Lying down helped settle the feeling of my racing heart, and after a moment I shifted along the mattress, reaching out to him. "I want to tell you a story," I insisted as my fingers found his cheek. "One I read in a book." I wanted him to learn the things I had about love and romance. I couldn't help but feel my body stir with a strange fire and warmth as he loomed just above me. Staring up at him I froze on the mattress hearing the latch click on the front door. I knew it had been locked.

Release Date: 10/22/13

Summary from Goodreads:

*A novella to the best-selling New Adult novel STRIPPED*

I’m the knight on the white horse in her eyes, the one who broke down her defenses after her sister’s death until she realized she was capable of love. To her—aside from my name, Torrin Kingsley—I’m perfect.

But there’s a sliver of my past I’ve never shared with her. One that is now haunting me with every breath I take. One she is starting to raise her brow to.

I’m not certain how much longer I can keep it from her. To be honest, I don’t know that it would make a difference anyway, because it seems no matter which path I choose, they all lead to the same end point. A place without Quinn.

My demons run bone deep. I guess burying them forever wasn’t possible.

RUSH By Eve Silver! REVIEW! Spoilers!

Rush (The Game Series #1)Seventeen-year-old Miki Jones's carefully controlled life spirals into chaos after she's run down in the street, left broken and bloody. She wakes up fully healed in a place called the lobby—pulled from her life, pulled through time and space into some kind of game in which she and a team of other teens are sent on missions to eliminate the Drau, terrifying and beautiful alien creatures.
There are no practice runs, no training, and no way out. Miki has only the guidance of secretive but maddeningly attractive team leader Jackson Tate, who says that the game is more than that, and that what Miki and her new teammates do now determines their survival and the survival of every other person on this planet. She laughs. He doesn't. And then the game takes a deadly and terrifying turn.

Let me list my feels. In this book, we follow Miki Jones, who after an accident has been sucked into the Game with her friend, Luka and the mysterious Jackson.

OH MY GOD, GUYS. THIS BOOK IS WONDERFUL. Miki is a wonderful character who is trying to get over her mom's death when suddenly her understanding of reality and everything she knew is ripped apart. The plot was fascinating and I loved how the character back stories got along!! I would have liked a bit more focus on the side characters and Miki's best friend's attitude annoyed me a bit. This book was an awesome read and I can't wait for the next one!

Blog Tour Stop: The Witchling

thewitchling.jpgNera is a normal teenage girl living in Ireland-or so she thought. Her world is forever changed when she discovers that she is descended from a long line of witches. To her horror she finds she is the one that is supposed to stop the curse that has taken the life of every girl before her. As if that isn't enough, she must learn to use magic and her trainer is a man named Bones. He is the son of Mari, Queen of the Witches, and a god. It is Bones that has been entrusted to teach her the skills she needs to stay alive, which wouldn't be so bad if he didn't have an uncanny knack for pushing her buttons. Can Nera learn what she needs while staying immune to the charms of the man that gets under her skin at every opportunity?

Review: The book took me a while to get into but as soon as I was in, I couldn't get out. The plot was interesting and the history helped it along. The characters were wonderful and I'm excited for the rest. Nera had good character development, and BOONESS *swoon*. I recommend this book!

                                                                   4.5/5
An interview with the author:
What inspired you to write this book?

It was a theme that was running around in my head for months before I started. Never having written a book before it threw me off and I didn't quite know what to do with it. Eventually I put pen to paper so to speak and three books in the series were written rather quickly.

What was your favorite character to write about?

Jasper would have to be my favorite character. I love a rich Irish voice and he is handsome to boot. What isn't there to like?

Did you listen to music while writing? If so, what music?

I always write with my headphones on. Pink is my fav and I listen to her cd's over and over again.
What was your writing process like?

Normally I never plot anything, I just go with whatever idea is in my head at the time. With this series though, I got a hint of all the different stories while I was writing book one.

Will this be a series?

All up there are four books in this series. Book Two, Changling is Sully's story and is due for release on Halloween.

Blog Tour Stop: The Howling Heart by April Bostic

TheHowlingHeartsidebar.jpgPaige Donovan is an ambitious college graduate who aspires to reach the top of the corporate ladder. She’s climbing fast when given the promotion of a lifetime at a prestigious fashion magazine in New York City. Her bright future comes to an unexpected halt after news of her father’s death. She inherits his old cabin in the Colorado Rockies and just when she thinks her luck couldn’t get any worse, she has a car accident in the mountains and awakens in the small, remote community of Black River. Soon she’s engulfed in the mystical world of Varulv—wolves descended from 12th century Scandinavia and blessed by Norse gods with the ability to appear human. Paige is desperate to return home, but never expects to fall for her rescuer, Riley Gray, a charming young werewolf from England who offers her an alternate future with his pack. Now she must choose between the career she’s always wanted and the love she’s always dreamed.

Review: The plot was really good. I had some issues with the characters but the writing style and plot was great. Paige was an iffy character, I liked her at the start of the book but when she went to the cabin, it went slightly downhill. I felt that she was easily manipulated by Riley and that their attraction was just that. Riley, I had some major issues with. I mean my CREEPY STALKER GUY radar was going off big-time, He threw hissy-fits when he didn't get his way and honestly, I did not like him one bit. Quinn was a darling, I loved her character and I felt sorry for her. I'd give this book
